For 30 years Michael has worked as an artist, draftsman, illustrator and animator. Born 1957 in Ramsgate, County of Kent - England, and raised in New Mexico USA. He is the oldest of three children and born of an English mother and an American USAF father.
Created his first oil painting at the self-taught age of nine. Educated in the world of mechanical and electronics at Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Technical Vocational Institute, Michael received a Diploma in Digital Electronics and another one in Instrumentation and Control (robotics). Working for companies like Sandia National Labs (via ASEC), Invensys, and Honeywell as a technical illustrator and draftsman for 12 years.
As a self-taught artist Mike went back to school at the age of 37 to get formal training from Art Master’s Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico studying under Art Master Lou Maesta. Studies include: color theory, commercial art, Old Master techniques and design.
Eighteen years of graphic design, animation, and fine art via the commercial world, Michael has decided to venture out to do his own. All art is for licensing and purchase. Also visit “http://www.cafepress.com/newmexciotees†for his newest art.
